Great take out food joint. Large selection to choose from. Very clean and bright looking store. Service was super fast and portions were a good size. Reasonably priced quality food.
Always good quality food, gets quite busy at times but that's the sign of a good fish and chippery. Not much atmosphere but hey it's the deep fried goodness you crave, not the ambience. Park around back or across the road when busy.
Firstly this place is very expensive, $10 for a small piece of fish and $8 for small chips. The batter was way too thick and oily and had large air bubbles inside it. The kids that work there are nice though, and the actual fish inside was good.
Took a while to get served. I ordered a burger with the lot, was given a plain hamburger with no sauce on it. The bun was stale. I had to throw my lunch in the bin. My partner got a yiros, he said it had no flavour, undercooked onion and was a sloppy mess. The food is also way overpriced for how terrible it was.
Our first fish and chips since we left Perth at the end of November 2023. If our next lot is anything to go by this serve from Champions at Christie's Beach we will never have to complain. The fish and batter used was absolutely delicious and so were the chips. For just $21 my wife and I had a feast and it's not often we couldn't eat all the chips. These were the best fish and chips we have had in a long time, even from a good restaurant. Thank you Champion Takeaway, you're doing SA proud.
We ordered from here recently for the first time. Very clear that the staff really care about getting things right for the customers. My wife reckons the veggie burger with the lot was the best she’s ever had. My flake and chips was perfect. Just wish we lived closer but definitely will be back.
